I later joined the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation in 1994 and worked as a programmer.I joined swarnawahini in 1997, as a presenter, news anchor, co-producer and an assistant video editor. My next employment opportunity was at TV Derana, I joined the channel in 2005.I am currently working as a presenter, news anchor and a senior program director and I’m currently the General Manager of the News and Current Affairs Division. I announced myself as a news anchor via the hourly news bulletins of swarnawahini and went on to become a main news anchor for the prime time bulletin, ‘Live At 8’. My career as a writer started when I was a kid, as I wrote various articles for the newspapers.Later I worked as a writer for the Divaina newspaper and was able to pass millstones in my writing career.I currently pen down columns for Aruna, one of Sri Lanka’s leading national newspapers and Rejiniya a popular women’s newspaper.
